Du Verre Hardware is made from real materials; brass, iron and aluminum. The hardware is manufactured by hand in small batches using the traditional sand-cast method. Original prototypes are conceived and perfected in North America and taken overseas for fabrication.

Sand-casting is a remarkable process. Each master pattern is pressed into a small casting box containing a mixture of sand and molasses. Molten metal is poured by hand into the individual molds. In moments, the metal hardens. The piece is then released from the sand and ready for finishing. Craftsmen painstakingly clean and polish each piece. The result is a one of a kind, hand finished original. The small variations inherent in this process give a warmth and beauty to every piece that cannot be achieved in any other way.
